Putting a beautiful night light at home
Idea No. 1 - Projector “Starry Sky”
So, the very first version of the lamp is a star projector from a can and a battery-powered flashlight. This homemade option is suitable for both a children's room and a bedroom. To make a night sky starry sky with your own hands, first prepare the following materials:
- glass jar with a lid (it is advisable to find a jar in the shape of a cylinder, and not the usual "pot-bellied" one);
- dense foil sheet;
- battery-powered flashlight;
- scissors;
- awl.
The idea is that you have to cut the foil to the height of the jar, perforate it over the entire area and place it inside the container. After that, you need to put the included flashlight on in the jar and the home-made starry nightlight is ready, you can turn it on at night and enjoy the space-style atmosphere.
By the way, a very important point - in the night sky, children like to look at the constellations Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. It would be nice to make these two constellations in the foil so that the home-made projector displays the most recognizable constellation for the child on the ceiling. You can make a space nightlight more like a real starry sky if you make holes in the foil according to the pattern of stars:
There is an easier way to make a starry night light in the nursery with your own hands - using the most ordinary tin can. All you need is to clean the surface of the jar from the label, paint it in a suitable color and make a hole with an awl. After that, inside the jar, you can either put the included flashlight on batteries, or even just put a lighted candle. The latter option will create a more romantic atmosphere in the bedroom. The finished night light should look something like the photo:
Idea # 2 - LED Downlight
We recommend that you look at another interesting master class with photo examples on assembling a homemade night light from LEDs. In order to make a beautiful lamp in the nursery, you must prepare the following materials:
- two transparent plastic tubes of various diameters;
- LEDs of suitable brightness and color;
- big traffic jam;
- glass pebbles;
- piece of wire;
- glue;
- pliers;
- board for LEDs;
So, so that the instructions with the description are understandable for you, we will provide step by step how to make a nightlight from improvised materials.
- Using pliers, bend the ends of the LED bulbs as shown in the photo.
- Connect all the LEDs to a piece of wire in parallel. Pay attention to the polarity.
- Connect the two ends of the wire to the finished board.
- Turn on the executive part of the night light and check how it works. If the bulbs get warm, add a resistor to the circuit.
- Glue the smaller diameter tube into the larger one.
- Pour decorative glass balls into the resulting void.
- Place the LED plug on the handset. If the diameter of the cork is larger than the tube, we recommend making a gasket (you can use a leather strap glued inside, as shown in the photo).
- Turn on the finished LED lamp.
Here, with such simple technology, you can make an LED night light in the children's room with your own hands. As you can see, everything is quite simple and it will not take more than half an hour to create it.
Idea No. 3 - Lamp from a can
Well, the last of the original workshops on making a night lamp from improvised materials - using tea cans. In this case, you can make a beautiful night lamp at home, which is suitable for a children's room.
So, to start, prepare the following materials:
- original tea can;
- a sheet of scrap paper according to the size of the jar;
- a sheet of cardboard;
- stationery knife;
- acrylic paint;
- a piece of sandpaper;
- Super glue;
- masking tape;
- lampholder;
- ordinary incandescent lamp;
- power cord;
- switch.
Again, it will be more convenient to provide step-by-step instructions for assembling a home-made night light at home.
- Cut a sheet of suitable size from scrapbooking paper so that you can completely wrap the jar. If you chose scrap paper with a pattern, immediately take into account the important point - the top of the night lamp will be the bottom of the can.
- Remove the lid from the can, lean it on a piece of paper, circle with a pencil and cut it with a clerical knife.
- Place the cut out template on the bank in a suitable place (in the future this will be a window). With a masking tape, fasten the paper oval and circle with a pencil.
- Cut a window according to the marking, as shown in the photo.
- Sand out the edges with sandpaper.
- Again, using the oval pattern, lean it against a piece of cardboard and circle it. After that, draw strips inside the oval, as shown in the photo, and cut out another do-it-yourself night lamp make-up for the nursery.
- On the inside, stick the cardboard to the jar.
- Decorate the can outside using your imagination. You can make a beautiful lamp by painting it with acrylics, paper or even threads.
- From the back of the night light, cut a hole for the power cord.
- Cut a hole in the lid of the can under the lamp holder.
- Assemble the bulb holder, switch and electric plug in one circuit.
- Secure the cartridge in the can and screw in the light bulb.
- Assemble a ready-made night lamp for the nursery and check its performance. Ideally, it should look something like this:
That's the whole assembly instruction for a homemade lamp for a child. As you can see, you can even make such a beauty from home yourself, there would be a desire and a little imagination!
