Why does the LED garland get very hot?

Good day. I would be very grateful if you help with advice. I bought a Chinese garland powered by USB. The garland is waterproof, it is a triple wire (5 meters) with small blue LEDs flooded with a drop of silicone. Voltage: DC 5 B. If you turn it on without unwinding, the garland is very hot. If you unwind the wire, the garland cools quickly. When you try to rewind a few turns on your hand again, it starts to heat up again. Tell me, what could be the reason? How safe is it to use such a garland? Thank.

    LEDs of a garland heat up. When you rewind, they are close to each other and poorly cooled, therefore, they heat up. Do not operate the garland when wound up, and everything will be safe.

    Thanks for the answer! And we had the same considerations.
    But the second garland, exactly the same, only with a different glow color (yellow) remains cold and wound.
    And with blue LEDs, if you do not unwind, you can use it as a boiler))
