Is it possible to replace the Kron battery with an adapter in a multimeter?

Oleg asks:
Good afternoon! Question: why, if instead of the Krona battery a voltage from the 9 volt adapter is applied to the multimeter, does the multimeter not work? Although I have experience when, instead of two batteries, the TV remote control was powered by a 5 volt adapter. I hope for an answer. Lovers of gossip, please do not worry! With respect to those who know, Oleg.
The answer to the question:
Hello! Yes, in principle, this can be done, why not! Maybe it does not work because you have reversed the polarity? Is the adapter working properly? Checked it under load?

Perhaps his voltage drops when turning on the multimeter, as a result of which the device does not work, or, on the contrary, the output voltage is too high! Also in the network there is information that the multimeter should be powered by a battery, since its source should not be connected to the measured circuits and because of this, some models are not switched on from power supplies.

If it’s not convenient for you to use the crowns to power the multimeter, then you can connect it to any battery from the phone or lithium batteries of size 18650 through a boost converter (the modules are sold in radio stores and aliexpress, it costs 100-200).
