The rotor, stator, brushes are working fine, tested by a specialist, but now, this specialist is not available (age!). Hello, George! What circular saw is this? The one that works from the network or the battery? If it is from the network, then most likely there is a common collector motor, and most likely it can be connected directly to a 220V network, and so it all depends on what kind of adjustment block there is. Maybe it is better to give it in for repair? Still, manual circular is a dangerous tool and the braking function may be important to you.
When connecting, it is important to correctly connect the brushes and the stator, in series or in parallel, depending on how it was connected initially.
