What does it take to make the heating circuits turn on alternately?
2 electric heating circuits of 8 kW each. What time relay and start relay are needed for alternating switching on the circuits daily from 23.00 to 07.00 (i.e. 1 night, 1st circuit; 2nd night, 2nd circuit, etc.). The heating period is 6 months. Correction is possible once a month. Thank. Regards Konstantin
Hello, Konstantin! What you want can be realized with two-channel or two single-channel weekly timers and two contactors. They are common enough for din rail mounting. For example, a timer from the EKF model TE-15. Any contactor - with the desired number of phases from which your heaters work and the corresponding current.
Only one problem arises - it is weekly, i.e. his work period is 7 days. And you need to turn it on every other day, that is, you have an even number of days. You can solve the situation if on an odd night half the time one circuit will work, and the other half - the other.
For example, on Monday at 20:00 the first circuit turns on, turns off on Tuesday at 6:00;
Tuesday - the second circuit - 20: 00-Wednesday 6:00;
Wednesday-Thursday - the first circuit;
Thursday-Friday - the second circuit;
Friday-Saturday - the first circuit;
Saturday-Sunday - the second;
Sunday from 20:00 to Monday 01:00 - the first, and on Monday from 01: 00-06: 00 - the second circuit.
Or tailor different work logic to your needs. Connect the timer output relay to the contactor control circuit, i.e. Break the coil phase of the timer relay. You can even use more serious devices like this: "ARIES UT-1." In it, judging by the instructions, you can program the days of the year, but you are tormented by setting up the operation of the circuits every day.
