Consider the classic situation when a socket falls out of a concrete wall. First you need to understand why the fastening mechanism, represented by sliding tabs, does not hold the housing in the landing hole. Make sure that a wall socket is installed in the wall, which is just what you need so that the socket or switch does not fall out. According to modern standards, it should be plastic, with corrugated walls designed to hook paws. Old metal glasses have flat inner edges, as a result of which it is simply impossible to securely secure the outlet. There are situations when such a glass is not installed at all, and the socket falls out due to the fact that the petals do not open well in concrete. One way or another, if the case is constantly falling out of the glass, we recommend install a new socket with corrugated walls that will solve this problem.
If you see that a normal plastic socket is installed in the wall, but the socket or light switch is hanging, we recommend checking the paws themselves. Possibly, the diameter of the mounting box is larger than the diameter of the leg extension, as a result of which the case simply cannot catch on the walls of the glass and falls out of it. In this case, there are two ways to solve the problem:
- Place rubber pads under the foot rest to compensate for the void.
- Bend the petals slightly with pliers to increase the diameter of the spacer. It should be understood that if the metal is soft, correcting the situation by deformation of the petals may not work, because when it is stretched, they will bend back. However, this happens extremely rarely, and then because of the poor quality of the product.
The trivial situation due to which electrical accessories fall from the wall is an error in installing outletwhen the installer forgets to part the petals well by twisting the special screws. If you live in a prefabricated house and in an apartment with old wiring, then often sockets and switches are bad to keep in the wall and fall out because they are installed in the through hole of the partition without a socket. You can clearly see this situation in the photo:
In this case, the first thing you need to do is install the socket, cut it if necessary (sometimes there are problems with the thickness and you have to shorten the glass from the bottom side) and then re-fix the socket or switch in the concrete wall.
Another situation is associated with a drywall. If the outlet escaped from the drywall along with a piece of gypsum, according to the above instructions, it will not be possible to fix the case. This is due to the fact that the principle of fastening the socket in concrete and drywall is different. In the latter case, the plastic cup is attached to the GKL sheet due to the presser legs, which can be seen in the picture below:
To prevent the socket from falling out and staggering, it is recommended to glue a piece of drywall sheet into place using alabaster or gypsum putty. When the solution hardens, you need to cut a small strip from the GKL sheet, put it under the damaged place and scroll with screws. This option to strengthen the wall will save the situation.
An alternative is to cram the newspaper inside the void around the hole and fill it with thick gypsum putty. Do not forget to bring the wires into the socket before doing this. The mounting box must be pressed into the solution so that it becomes flush with the wall (does not protrude), then remove the excess solution and wait until the gypsum hardens.

How to prevent breakage?
The main reason why the outlet is loose and falls off the wall is the improper use of the product. We have repeatedly said that it is strictly forbidden to pull out the connected cord, as because of this, you can tear the case out of the slot. No matter how they say, but this is the most common cause of the malfunction. The rest - do not forget to at least occasionally do wiring audit, checking the reliability of the landing of sockets and switches, as well as the quality of connecting wires to the terminals.
