Safety cable connection in a box on the street near the house

Alexandra asks:
Hello! In the summer cottage conducted light. An electrician at a quick glance said to get a cable of 30 meters. During installation, it turned out that the cable is small and he put the junction box, increased the cable. The box is close to the house. Centimeters 40-50. Assures that it is durable, taking into account climatic conditions. Frosts are up to -30. Is such a close proximity to the house dangerous, can it still short-circuit when damaged. Or still do not spare money, buy a cable of 40 meters, so as not to think and redo it. The box with the cable hangs in the air, not specially fixed. There are hurricanes and winds, thanks.
The answer to the question:
Hello! It’s a normal situation. The main thing is that your boxes do not just hang on the wire, but are mounted on a wall, on a support or somewhere else, and it is also important to provide moisture protection, i.e. cable entry points should not be on top; the possibility of moisture ingress should be minimized. Under these conditions, even a PVC box of good quality will, of course, serve long enough and safely.

Also, there should not be twists in the box, the cable connection must be of high quality (sleeve, welding), it should not be pulled, i.e. the junction should move freely. Well and certainly reliable isolation of this place.
