Hello, please tell me how many 2-kilowatt refrigerators can I power for a whole day from 24-volt lithium-ion batteries? I need to power 10 such refrigerators for 16 hours, how long will it take to recharge the batteries? Thanks in advance to all who think.
See 2 kW - it's 5 Amps. The converter has an efficiency of 65%. From batteries, he will take 8 Amps. For one refrigerator, you need to take a 100-ampere battery. It will not be really expensive. It’s easier to install a diesel generator.
At 2 kW and 5 amperes, the voltage should be 400 volts! For the purpose of asking for 20 kW, an uninterruptible power supply of an industrial level is required (at least 30 kW, since compressors have large starting currents), and the battery capacity must be calculated based on the required operating time of the equipment. A diesel generator is also expensive (after all, 20 kW), in addition, it does not give a stable voltage, you will also need a stabilizer. So the question asked is not as simple as it seems. It is best to consult a specialist.
The refrigerator consumes 2 kW (220 V x 9 A), i.e. 9 A h. For 16 hours - 144 A h.
If the batteries have a capacity of 75 Ah, then for one refrigerator you need 20 batteries, two groups of 10 pieces connected in series (24 volts x 10 = 240 volts), connected in parallel (75 Ah x 2 = 150 Ah). In practice, it is necessary to have a large capacity, or take batteries of a larger capacity (100 Ah), or add another group of batteries in parallel, i.e. already will be 30 pcs.
For 10 refrigerators you will need 200 (300) pcs.
The problem is different, each battery has an internal resistance, and if it is not so critical with a parallel connection (there will be different discharge times), then with a serial connection they will need to be coordinated somehow.
Another problem is the charging and maintenance of so many batteries, this is an industrial battery workshop !!!
So the best way out, as mentioned above, is a generator.
