Is it possible to shut-off load-bearing walls for electrics?
Good afternoon! How deep can ditch load-bearing walls for electrical wiring? And is it possible to install a built-in apartment shield in the load-bearing wall? Or is it better to use an outer shield? I don’t think it’s not right to make a non-load-bearing wall with a thickness of only half a brick, and I think it’s not right to make a gate under it under an electric panel, the shield is very thick. Tell me how to?
Bearing walls cannot be gated. In this case, it is better to use an external shield (patch type). A half-brick non-load-bearing wall is also better to install an outer shield. The only thing that can be done is to slightly deepen the cover plate into the load-bearing wall so that it stands out less. But deepen so that you can freely open the flap cover.
