The outlet that was not used burned out, after replacing it stinks burned
Good evening. A few days ago, the smell of singed wires appeared from an outlet into which we did not turn on anything. After some time, something inside this outlet exploded. The machine did not work. The master came, stripped the wires, changed the socket. But! the smell remained. (Near the outlet) Does this mean that the wires are melting?
Hello! The smell of burning insulation can remain close to the place of damage to the wiring for a long time - this is normal. The sockets are most likely connected by a loop - therefore, a problem occurred or water got into the socket, for example, and it simply closed.
