When testing a self-regulating cable, it shows a short circuit
Hello! I installed a self-regulating cable on the street window sill. Connected to the power cable according to the instructions, using heat shrink sleeves (including terminal). Before connecting, I checked on a short circuit using Contact +, so Phase-Zero shows a short, but nothing with a grounding conductor. Please tell me, should this be so? Thank!
The grounding conductor must be isolated from phase and zero. Between zero and phase should not be short. Do not check for short circuit, but for resistance. If resistance 0 is a short circuit and the cable is damaged. A working heating cable should have some resistance. There are different types of cable, there may be their own connection features, so in order to avoid errors in the connection, it is better to look at the instructions for connecting your cable. If there is no instruction, then check for proper connection at the place of purchase of the cable.
The same story, checked on a small piece shows resistance 0, connected the voltage and the cable works, what kind of thing?
