Why does the voltage drop in the apartment?
Good afternoon, I had a question I really want to get an answer for - for some unknown reason, the voltage dropped in the wiring: the light worked dimly, the devices did not work at 100%. In the next apartment and entrance there were no such miracles. As I know, such breakdowns occur in social institutions (one phase is knocked out), but here in the apartment this is not clear to me. This disorder lasted 2 hours, after the light recovered itself. Tell me, please, what could it be.
Another entrance may be in a different phase, but if everything was normal in the neighboring apartment, then there was no voltage drop in your phase. In this case, the cause of this phenomenon could be the unsatisfactory state of the wiring. Perhaps, the contact connection is broken somewhere - if so, then it will reappear. You should also pay attention to the circuit breakers in the shield - check the contact clamps, and if this situation repeats, then listen for any extraneous noise and crackles in the protective devices.
Also, the house voltage drops with increasing load, and if the wiring cable has a cross section lower than that required for a given load, then with an increase in load, the voltage drop will be significant.
