Why did the wire of the new lamp turn green and is it dangerous?

Irina asks:

Hello! The sconce lamp worked fine, it was removed only due to wallpapering. I saw that the wire turned green and sticky (see photo), at the base there was generally some kind of slurry. The wire that is with the switch looks normal. The lamp is new, it worked only a couple of months, it is supposed to put it back in place after wallpapering, but the greenery is embarrassing. What is it and what can be done about it? In any case, the master will do it, not me. But I want to understand in advance what this is about, whether it is possible to save a new lamp or how complicated / simple repair is required here. Or is this generally the norm, and I'm panicking for nothing.
The wire turned green

The answer to the question:
Hello! In copper, brass, bronze, green oxide, it was from this that the braid on the wire became colored. It's okay, maybe there was moisture and the metal was oxidized. An electrician at best will simply replace the wire, and perhaps even with this braid, or maybe just insert a couple of cores into the lamp and this will end the job.
