Why are new electricity meters breaking?
Good day. I have a problem. The new building was renovated and rented an apartment for hire. The meter readings were recorded, but after a couple of months, the tenant transmits the readings - they are unchanged, the meter is standing. Checked - defective, replaced under warranty, sealed. He worked a couple of months and got up again. They called electricians, looked - they say that it is faulty - it is necessary to change. But the question arises, maybe the problem is not in the counter, what if it is changed again and the situation repeats itself? Once I can still understand that the new counter is defective, but the second time something bothers me. Please tell me what could be another reason. thank
Hello! One of the reasons is the failure of the meter due to overload. Pay attention to the rated current of the installed meter and the rated current of the circuit breaker, which is on the input. It is also possible that the second counter was factory defective. It is unlikely, but another possible reason for the failure of the meter is the unauthorized interference with its operation.
