Why do brushes spark after disconnecting the motor from the mains?
The first time I came across the fact that when starting a collector-type engine and working, there is no sparking of the brushes, but when the circuit breaks (turns off), there is almost a circular fire! I replaced the brushes, the rotor and the stator rang (though I hadn’t bought an ICZ yet), everything is fine, there is no breakdown on the megaohms. A couple of such starts (or shutdowns) and brushes are pretty carbonized. In general, there is only one thought - after shutdown it works in generator mode? Or some nonsense! Who has any other thoughts?
Most likely a rotor malfunction. Usually, a circular light on the manifold is a sign of an imminent failure of the engine rotor. Let the experts check, maybe somewhere short. If the engine is fully operational, then read about braking the collector motors. Also pay attention to the condition of the collector and brushes. Perhaps with bad contact there is a spark that can develop to a circular arc.
