Why is the dimmer heated?

Hello! I bought a new dimmer, installed it and noticed that the case heats up when the light is on. Can you name the reason why the dimmer is working in working order?

    Good day! The heating of the dimmer is most likely due to the fact that its rated power is less than the total power of all serviced bulbs. The dimmer power must be no less than 20% more than the lamps it controls.
