Computer speakers stopped working - what could be?
The columns that had not been used for 3-4 months stopped working. I decided to install them and then I was convinced that they stopped working: I insert the headphones into the speakers, the headphones work, but they play at the same volume. I add sound, but there’s no sense, I pull out the headphone speakers do not work. I checked it with a multimeter: the current is flowing, but in some places it is not there and including where the wires go to the speakers, it is not there either. There is current on the chip, but it is not there where the speaker is connected, what could be the reason?
There are two types of voltage on the speaker sound amplifier board. Constant voltage - measured in the range of the DC multimeter. And the pulse voltage of the sound signal, it can be measured with a special device, not all multimeters will be able to measure this type of signal. You yourself can measure the voltage of 6-12 volts per amplifier. Check the integrity of the power and sound cable, ring the speaker cone. The main reason for the failure of the speakers is the burnout of the network transformer. The second place is the failure of the amplifier microcircuit due to overload, prolonged listening to maximum volume and voltage surges in the network.
