Extension cord heating when connecting a spotlight
I deal with floodlights, throttle, the floodlight (400W power output) is powered by a throttle and a starting device. At home (apartment) put on a test spotlight for two days. From the outlet there is an extension cord (rated for 16A), the wires from the outlet to the extension box are heated. From the plug in the extension cord to the throttle and after the throttle, do not heat up. What is the problem?
The problem is the extension cord itself. Apparently the cross-section of the wire is less than that declared by the manufacturer, and heating occurs when the load is connected.
