Is it possible to lay electrical wiring on the ceiling in an open way?
Is it possible to conduct electrical wiring open on the ceiling and on lamps and sockets? In the apartment in the new building, the workers did not conduct all the wires into the plaster on the walls, but along the monolithic ceiling under the suspended ceiling. The wires are not closed by anything. They say this is called "beam wiring." Is it dangerous?
It is not forbidden to lay electrical wiring on the ceiling, the main thing is that no contact joints should be closed under the finishing material (in this case, a stretch ceiling), since they should always have open access.
"Beam wiring" - probably implies the installation of a junction box, from which the lines for powering outlets and fixtures branch off. All contact connections are in the junction box and, accordingly, there must be open access to it. If this box is closed under a stretch ceiling, it will not be possible to check the condition of the contact joints. In the case of deterioration in the reliability of the connections, the wiring will heat up, which will eventually lead to its damage with a possible fire.
