Can I use a PUNP wire for lighting?
Hello. I know that the PUNP wire is not recommended for use because the declared cross-sectional area can be 30% less (allowed by GOST). I plan to use the PUNP 2 * 1,5 wire for lighting devices. Even if the actual cross-section of the wire is 1.0, then the permissible load is around 2 kW. And I have only 3 energy-saving light bulbs with a total capacity of maximum 100 watts. Purely for complacency I would like to hear the opinion of experts. Can I carry out my plan?
Hello! You can use in this case, but note that not only the cross-section of the PUNP wire is less than declared, but also the thickness of the insulation. In a dangerous situation, this can play a trick. You can learn more about the PUNP wire from our article https://our.electricianexp.com/en/texnicheskie-xarakteristiki-i-prichina-opasnosti-provoda-punp.html
Is it possible or not? :) Which cable with which cross section would you recommend in my case?
