How to choose a machine and contactor for a homemade 6 kW electric boiler?

Boris asks:
Hello. I assemble an electric boiler according to the scheme: three automatic machines, a starter, a temperature controller, a heating element of 6 kW. The starter will be installed in the boiler room, in a 220v network.
Tell me please:

1) what power and protection should I choose a starter?
2) how many amperes are automatic machines?
3) what cable is between the heater and the starter?
4) what cable to the machines?
Thank!

The answer to the question:
Hello. At rated voltage, the heating elements will consume a little more than 9A each. So set the machine to 16A, as the closest with a small margin of current. A cable is sufficient with a conductive core cross section of 1.5 mm², if the length of the line is small it is possible 2.5 mm², both between the heating elements and the starter, and to the machines. What does it mean, "what is its power and protection?" You do not need a starter, but a contactor. Thermally protected starters are mainly used for electric motors. Although the concepts of "starter" and "contactor" are quite close. In short, you need a starter or contactor with a rated current of 10A, the so-called "Starters of the second magnitude" with a rated current of 25A - will last longer.

Admin, I don’t know what you think, but 6kw in a 220v network is 24A. the contactor needs at least 32A, automatic machines, respectively. cross section of a copper cable 2.5 is about 25 amperes, end to end. section 4. xs is necessary as you consider.

You were modest enough to accuse me of incompetence, but you did not have enough attention to see what a person is writing? 3 !!! THREE!!! Automatic machine. Even if the network is single-phase, it does not change anything. 6 kW Heating elements in the vast majority consist of three heating elements of 2 kW each (with the expectation of connecting to a three-phase power supply network).
