    Hello! If you look at the circuit of the four-terminal cross-over switch, you will see the same jumpers, only they will be located inside the product. A crossroads is something like two pass-through switches in one housing with a combined lever (key). Jumpers in this case are needed. Judging by the scheme, with them you still have the same 4 contacts for connecting to an external circuit, and without them you will get a great variety of inclusions. You don't need her. The figure shows a classic light control circuit of 3 places.
