How to identify wires when connecting a chandelier?
If the switch in the “OFF” position, 3 wires are removed from the ceiling for the chandelier: one single double and one separate. The probe shows in a double wire one diode lights up at full strength, the second in the same double at half power, the third separate wire does not respond to the probe, i.e. the diode does not light up.
If the switch in the “ON” position in the double wire, a single one also burns at full power, the second at half power, and a separate wire also a diode burns at full power.
Question: where from these wires is “0” (EARTH) and where is “PHASE” and how to connect them to the chandelier correctly?
And what is your “probe”? Is this the indicator screwdriver? Do you have it with batteries or a neon bulb? Where it burns at full brightness - most likely a phase. Apparently, the third wire is the phase opened by the switch, and why the phase is constantly on one core of a two-wire wire is not clear.
