Where can I cut the LED strip?
So, in fact, there is nothing complicated in cutting off a piece of conductor. As a rule, the cutting places are indicated by the manufacturer every 3 LEDs (step 5-10 cm), which is clearly visible in the picture below:
All you have to do is take sharp scissors and draw clearly along the marked line. Be careful and cut strictly according to the dash, that we will not damage the LED strip.
We draw your attention to the fact that cutting LEDs is necessary only in the off state! To work under voltage, as shown in the video below, is not recommended, because if you accidentally provoke short circuitcan burn both tape and power supply!
The LED conductor is correctly cut as follows:
We also want to provide you with photos that show how the place of cutting the LED strip from different manufacturers (for example, Jazzway or Apeyron) might look like:
It should also be noted that sometimes manufacturers do not mark the line by which to cut, with an icon of scissors. In this case, you must cut off the material by placing the scissors blade between two pairs of adjacent connection points, as shown in the very first picture in the article.
That’s all I wanted to tell you about how to cut 220 V and 12V LED strips. We hope that now you know how far you can cut and how to do it correctly so as not to damage the power supply!
