Measurement of insulation resistance of the unit (sensor or signaling device)
Good afternoon! Is there any purchased unit purchased (alarm, sensor). It is necessary to check its insulation with a megohmmeter. How to do it right? Connect probes + to each contact of the unit’s connection, and to its housing?
Hello. In principle, you correctly assume, but it all depends on which of the outputs of your block you are checking. If you check, for example, an inductive sensor, then you can check the resistance between the winding and the housing, but the signal output of the sensors and blocks containing electronic circuit boards should not be called like that. Do not forget that the output of the megoometer is usually high voltage.
And how then, in this case, to ring the insulation resistance?
